He said: ‘A couple of years after the trial I instructed this firm TM Eye to look into my brother’s death because everyone was telling me that Moore had nothing to do with it. Moore was their fall guy.’īusinessman Tim explained how he had instructed the firm of retired Met Police detectives TM Eye to investigate his brother’s murder after he was concerned about Moore’s conviction. ![]() ![]() ‘Police were just determined to arrest and convict ‘a body’ any way they could. ‘They don’t care about justice or right or wrong. ‘I experienced, first hand, how police shamelessly ignored evidence and information I passed on to them. ‘The Moores have suffered just as the Darby family has. Tim Darby told MailOnline: ‘I have been in contact with Jason Moore’s family and his solicitor for years. Jason’s sister Kirstie Moore added: ‘After nine years at looking at the files Jason’s conviction I have concluded that police withheld evidence and testaments from the defence that would have exonerated my brother of murder.’ ‘So when we were approached by a production company to make a documentary for Netflix we jumped at the chance. ‘But the Court of Appeal found against him and the Criminal Case Review Commission has refused to have another look at his case.īrother of the deceased Tim Darby believes convicted killer Jason Moore was the police's 'fall guy' ‘We have uncovered new witnesses and evidence that all proves that Jason did not kill anyone. ‘We have spoken to lawyers, to private investigators and to Robert Darby’s brother Tim. ‘After Jason got sent down we have done everything we can to prove that he didn’t do it. ‘I know it, the police know it, even Darby’s family know it but Jason’s still in jail with no prospect of release. ‘Quite simply Jason didn’t kill Robert Darby,’ his long-term partner Sandra Dumont told MailOnline. However, Moore has always maintained his innocence and have led a tireless campaign to prove his innocence and secure his release. Judge Nicholas Hilliard sentenced him to life in prison with a minimum tariff of 18 years. Moore was led screaming to the cells, violently kicking the dock and threatening a police officer. Murder victim: Robert Darby was stabbed to death outside the Valentine pub in August 2005īut the jury found him guilty of the murder and acquitted his co-defendant Martin Power of all charges. Moore admitted Robert Darby had threatened to ‘chop my toes off’, that he had been at the car park of the Valentine pub in Gants Hill, east London, at the time but claimed he was not the killer as he had remained in a car when the stabbing took place. The trial at the Old Bailey heard how Moore and Darby were involved in a ‘love triangle’ over the affections of Adele Raynor, who worked in a bar underneath the gambler’s £1.4 million Canary Wharf apartment. Jason Moore went on the run in the days after murder, fearing reprisals and lived under a false identity on the Costa Del Sol in Spain and Dubai in the Middle East.īut he returned to UK in September 2012 and gave himself up to the police in a bid to clear his name. The photo was taken just three months before the murder in 2005.īut now his case is set to feature in a true crime documentary series which will be broadcast on Netflix, in the latest attempt by the ‘Free Jason Moore’ campaign to get him released.
